A free digital download for you!

I am presently working on a coloring and activity book with a Cape Cod theme and while doing my programs this summer came up with a small, easily downloadable booklet called “My Cape Cod Beach.Book.” It is printed on both sides of one piece of paper, cut in half and either tied together with string or yarn or stapled. It fits easily into a pocketbook or backpack and is great for those times kids have to spend waiting….

Here’s a quick picture tutorial of how to put your booklet together. Ordering information is at the end of this post.

After you download the free PDF file…..Print on both sides of a heavy paper–I used card stock–so the images don’t show through the other side.

Cut it in half so that you have 2 pieces 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ I use a paper cutter but scissors are fine–just use a ruler for a straight line.

Next, you are just going to fold them in half–the cover is pretty obvious but on the other page I like to put the long 2 page drawing in the center inside.

Using a hole punch, make 2 holes in the folded ‘spine’ of the booklet.

I use a soft bamboo string but you may use twine, yarn or whatever you have. You can also just staple it.

I tie mine on the outside using 2 double knots but you can tie it inside or outside.

Now it’s time to draw and color! Young kids love this but the older crowd seems to like it, too….

To get your free digital file download you just need to send me an email. Please include a sentence saying you understand that this can be for unlimited personal and educational use but that you have no intentions of using it commercially. Also, if you’d like to tell me where and how it will be used that would be awesome. I always like to hear the stories of how things like these get used. Feel free to send this information along to anyone you think would like it. Parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, camp counselors–all are welcome to order one.

  1. Hi Mary,
I enjoy all of your postings on facebook. Would love to take my grandson to one of your classes but schedules don’t always work.
As a former teacher, I admire all the lessons you are doing. I would only copy this for my grandson – Lucas – who is 8 years old.
    Thanks for your sharing.
    Marie
